Cellphone Photography Tip: Don’t Forget to Wipe
Greetings readers. I am winding up my stay teaching Lightroom, Printing and Digital Photography at the Adobe Photoshop PopUp Store in San Francisco. During a day off I got to roam the storied streets of San Francisco and do a little photography and have a little cake along the way too.
I stopped for a delicious piece of chocolate cake along Fisherman’s Wharf and decided to reach into my pocket and take out my Droid and snap a picture of the dessert. Note that the picture is a little fuzzy. Cameras on most smart phones are located on the backside of your phone-the side that contacts your oily palm repeatedly. Using a phone-as a phone, day in and day out we sometimes forget just how much muck accumulates on the palm side.
A quick wipe of the lens with a shirt tail yields a much clearer picture.
Cell Phone Photography Tip #1: Wipe off your lens before shooting that shot.
A clean lens yields a better image.
