It is time to shift gears and look forward to PowerPoint Live, the premier event for presentation professionals across the country, indeed, around the world. This year’s conference takes place in San Diego during September.
Between the 21st through the 24th, you will have the opportunity to sit with presentation professionals, industry experts, fellow content creators, and a real host of genuinely friendly people. Many attendees, if not all, fall into most, if not all, of these categories!
The conference is hosted by Rick Altman and is one of the finer events I have ever attended. Rick has been hosting software conferences in publishing, graphic design and presentation for much longer than he would care that I mentioned. Rick’s book, Why Most PowerPoint Presentations Suck, featured at his web site is a great example of why the world needs a conference like PowerPoint Live.
“But Rikk,” you query. “Why are you touting PowerPoint Live?”
The answer is simple: I am one of its intrepid instructors.

Join me in 2008!
This year in San Diego, you can learn the basics of Digital Photography in a Sunday Crash Course (this happens to be on my birthday too! who knows? maybe there will be cake…). On Tuesday you can sneak away from Conference Central for a field trip, with me as your guide, to a mysterious destination in San Diego where we will capture little slices of life on our digital cameras. Then, on Wednesday, we will take those stolen photons of light and massage them into masterpieces before a live audience.
And most of all, we will have fun, learn stuff, meet people and leave refreshed and vitalized.
See you in San Diego in September (a little ‘s’ alliteration for you)
